Neurosurgery is the specialization, diagnosis and surgical treatment of disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system, including congenital anomalies, trauma, tumors, vascular disorders, infections of the brain or spine, stroke or degenerative diseases of the spine.
Some conditions treated by neurosurgeons are:
- Meningitis and other central nervous system infections, including abscesses

- Cervical spinal stenosis and Lumbar spinal stenosis

- Head trauma (brain hemorrhages, skull fractures, etc.)
